UAE hotel operator Rotana will open a new casino at the luxurious Pontus Rotana Resort & Spa Gonio in Georgia.
The luxury property, partnered with Pontus Capital, will be located in the beach suburb of famous Batumi, and is expected to open in 2026, for business and leisure travellers, Rotana said in a statement.
The new resort will have 600 rooms, “world-class gaming” at the grand casino, a private beach, dining venues, spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pools as well as a wellness and fitness centre. The resort will also have an interactive kids play zone.

The resort will be the very first five-star Rotana property in Georgia, Rotana president and chief executive officer Guy Hutchinson said.
“Complete with glamourous architecture, a variety of fine-dining venues and elevated recreation facilities, Pontus Rotana Resort & Spa will deliver on our singular brand promise of ‘Treasured Time’ for guests and visitors alike. The 600-key property marks a significant milestone for Rotana as we continue to expand our footprint internationally with new regions in the pipeline, and we look forward to the property’s successful launch,” Hutchinson explained.

Luxurious casino resort in Gonio
Nestled along the Black Sea coast, the coastal town of Gonio is famous for its beaches and green mountains.
The prestigious Pontus Rotana Resort & Spa is located just seven minutes away from Batumi International Airport, and Gonio also provides easy access to Batumi city centre in a mere 14 minutes, while the Turkish border near Sarfi is a short 10-minute drive away.
