UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed postponed his visit to Pakistan due to weather conditions in the country, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Monday.
The meeting between the UAE President and Pakistan’s Prime Minister were due to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
A phone call was held between Sheikh Mohamed and Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistani Prime Minister, during which they reviewed UAE-Pakistan relations and agreed to schedule another visit as soon as possible, WAM said.

Relations between UAE and Pakistan date back to 1971. The ties between the two counties have evolved so much so that the Gulf nation has become one of Pakistan’s major donors for economic relief and financial aid, as and when needed.
The Islamabad administration of Pakistan had also declared a public holiday on Monday, January 30, to honour the arrival of Sheikh Mohamed. The holiday announcement was made by Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESC), and hospital staff, were exempt from the holiday.
In addition, the District Administration and Municipal Corporation of Islamabad staff will also be on duty on Monday.
The Senate meeting in Islamabad Secretariat is scheduled to be held at 3 PM on Monday.
