World’s first ‘robotics and innovation’ store to open in Dubai’s Festival City

Action-to-Action’s Innovators shop aims to help tech start-ups sell their products in the region

Dubai shoppers will be able to purchase their very own robot when a dedicated robotics store opens in the emirate next month, its founders have claimed.

UAE-based firm Action-to-Action, which helps technology start-ups take their inventions to market, said it is to open the world’s first ‘robotics and innovation store’ at Dubai Festival City on July 3.

The store, called Innovators, will feature more than 100 innovative robotics products, from brands such as EZ Robot, Wonder Workshop, DTS Robotics, Amaryllo, Quitbit and Sen.se.

Robotics start-ups will offer visitors hands-on experience with the latest technologies. The store will have a dedicated section for robotics, where shoppers can “interact” with robots and learn more about their functions before deciding whether or not to purchase one.

The shop aims to “visualise the future transformation of consumer electronics retail”, Action-to-Action said.

One promotional video on its Facebook page said: “We wanted to create a coding language that makes robotics every child’s play. Since when was coding this cool?”

However, it is understood the products on offer are intended for adults, as well as children.

Cizar Abugazaleh, managing director at Action-to-Action, told Channelmea.com this month: “The world is embracing robotics, and we are proud to be the first to offer robots that suit a variety of segments such as education, services, recreation and for domestic functions.

“We are enabling innovators to take their products to a wider marketplace. `Innovators’, as the name suggests, will give innovative technology start-ups a platform to make their products accessible to customers in the region.”

The store is the world’s first electronics store to not list traditional electronics products such as laptops, tablets, desktops and mobile phones, Action-to-Action claims.

“The introduction of robotics into the consumer electronics space is proof that customers demand more from their devices,” Abughazaleh said.
