Printing and office products vendor migrates from two-tier model by appointing GIBCA as its authorised distribution partner for commercial devices in booming UAE market
Canon Middle East has bolstered its Middle East route-to-market with the appointment of GIBCA as its official distributor for Canon business solutions in the UAE.
The move to appoint GIBCA also means that Canon is moving away from its former two-tier go-to market model for business solutions in the UAE.
GIBCA will take responsibility for direct sales, marketing and services through an integrated structure and dedicated sales force, which will take control of all Canon business solution sales in the UAE.
Canon claims that integrated service offerings and closer ties with its distributors in multiple product areas will mean greater benefits for its customers throughout the UAE market.
"GIBCA has been appointed as a new distributor alongside National Store, the long standing distributor of Canon for photo and video products in the UAE," confirmed Gordon Jones, president at Canon's 80- strong Middle East arm. "GIBCA will be responsible for Canon business solutions in the UAE."
He claims the move marks an "important step" towards the realisation of Canon's potential in the Middle East.
The move will drive forward Canon's business solutions and bring us closer to our customers through improved communication and a stronger direct sales operation," said Jones.
As a direct sales operator in the UAE, GIBCA will work with small and medium businesses as well as large corporate accounts and government projects, helping these customers to improve business efficiency through the deployment of Canon solutions.
Canon's business solutions portfolio encompasses a range of IT products and services for the office and professional print environment.
