Visiting Huawei at GITEX 2022? Here’s what you can expect

China-based multinational technology company Huawei will operate under the thematic banner ‘Unleash Digital’, and will explore digital productivity at GITEX 2022.

Huawei’s participation comes amid increased investment in UAE’s digital economy, cybersecurity, and advanced technologies, the company’s Middle East vice president Shunli Wang told Arabian Business.

“This further emphasizes our constant efforts to bring technological advances to even more industries and create new value by helping governments and enterprises go digital while operating more intelligently and achieving sustainability,” Wang said, adding that the “ultimate target” is to build a comprehensive ecosystem for open collaboration and shared success at the four-day event.

What can visitors expect?

“We plan to showcase our newest end-to-end products, solutions and advanced ICT technologies focusing on 5.5G, cloud, AI, digital power, cybersecurity, and industry applications designed to meet the needs of various industry scenarios and sectors such as government, utilities, oil and gas, transportation, finance hence address government national digital transformation goals,” Wang said.

Huawei will also exhibit various solutions that address climate change, along with technological updates that can “cut the carbon footprint of an increasingly energy-hungry world,” thus revolutionising nature conservation.

In addition, visitors can also expect, according to Wang:

  • A new strategy for HUAWEI CLOUD, Everything-as-a-Service incorporated into industry solutions from four dimensions: government and enterprise, public cloud, partner cloud, and ecosystem.
  • Innovative applications in industry scenario, matching the capabilities of partners and customers in the region. Emerging ICT technologies, such as cloud computing, IoT, big data, and AI address challenges to traditional campuses, such as low efficiency, poor service experience, energy waste, and high operational costs. Huawei Smart Campus Solution implements digital transformation of campuses, fuels innovative industry development, and enhances service experience.
  • Demonstrate the integration of digital technologies and power electronics technologies, clean energy development and energy digitalisation.

During GITEX 2022, Huawei will host its annual Huawei Innovation Day for Middle East and Africa in parallel to GITEX Global on October 11th in Al Multaqua Ballroom at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC).

“This year’s event will be held under the theme of “Collaboration to Unleash Innovation for Sustainable Digital Future” in collaboration with the Arab ICT Organisation (AICTO), where leading regional and global experts in government, academia, regulators, industry analysts, as well as Huawei’s senior leadership team will share their expertise and knowledge over keynotes speeches and panel discussion,” Wang said.

The sessions are scheduled to cover key themes within the technology innovation and ecosystem, including Green ICT for sustainable future of sectors and industries in the MEA region and ICT Talent Ecosystem – creating the digital future leaders and empowering women in ICT in the MEA region, Wang added.

Huawei will also host HuaweiConnect in Dubai for the first time in parallel with GITEX 2022. This will showcase how the company can support regional organisations in their digital transformation initiatives, Wang said.

HuaweiConnect will take place at Madinat Jumeirah on October 11 and 12.

When asked what are Huawei’s expectations from GITEX 2022, Wang said: “With our expanded presence at the show this year, we look forward to showcasing our technological advances and creating new value by helping governments and enterprises unleash the vast potential for digital transformation while achieving it more intelligently and sustainably.”

Over the past years, Huawei provided a comprehensive solution that covers the entire talent development process from course development, trainer enablement, to lab environment setup, and from talent certification, competition, to employment of the ICT talents whether with Huawei or its customers and partners.

Additionally, Huawei is helping universities cultivate ICT talent that meets industry requirements, providing high-quality talent for industry development.

The solution works with the government, universities, and enterprises to build a new ICT talent development model and an effective talent ecosystem.

“We urge all government entities across the region to support ICT Talent development through incentive policy to students who received certifications from these high-level programs, so we can build a better ICT talent ecosystem through PPP model,” Wang said.

GITEX 2022 will run from October 10 to 14 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
