Global Hyatt Corporation has launched a new brand ‘Andaz', with the first properties slated for London and New York.

Global Hyatt Corporation has launched a new brand ‘Andaz', with the first properties slated for London and New York.

The company, which already manages the Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Resorts, Hyatt, Hyatt Place and Hyatt Summerfield Place brands, will re-brand the Great Eastern Hotel in London once refurbishments are completed in September.

A second property in New York, will also bear the new Andaz brand.

Global Hyatt president and chief executive Mark Hoplamazian said the brand Andaz - which means "personal style" in Hindi - would be as environmentally friendly as possible, focussing on use of biodegradable products, organic food and beverages, and energy efficiency.

"Our launch of Andaz is based on demand expressed by both consumers and developers for a product and experience that they have not [yet] found within the industry," he said.
