Bright gold-coloured claddings are being put up on Dubai Frame, after new cladding was ordered for the landmark tourism project.

According to social media posts, golden claddings are being put on the bridge on the frame with intricate design inspired by the Expo 2020 logo.

In an exclusive interview with Arabian Business in February, director-general Hussain Nasser Lootah said the opening of Dubai Frame had been pushed back due to replacement of exterior claddings with the opening slated in second half of the year.

He added the cladding work would be completed in the next two to three months.

Launched in 2013, the $43.60 million (AED160 million) project has been delayed with the official opening planned in 2015, but delayed to 2016.

The 150-metre-high, 93-metre-wide structure in Zabeel Park resembles a picture frame, through which landmarks representing modern Dubai such as Emirates Towers and Burj Khalifa can be seen on one side, while visitors can view the older parts of the city such as Deira, Umm Harare and Karama from the other side.

One of baggiest & unique project in Dubai
