Cinematic Innovation Summit will take place before Dubai International Film Festival in Dec
English actor Andy Serkis, the actor best known for his role as Gollum in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’ movies, and Alvy Ray Smith, the co-founder of Hollywood animation studio Pixar will be some of the big names headlining a film summit in Dubai in December.
The Cinematic Innovation Summit will take place at the Atlantis hotel in Dubai on December 5 and 6, 2013, and will feature film executives and talent from Hollywood, Silicon Valley and beyond.
The summit will be
co-organised by French business information group, naseba and the
US-based Center for New Cinema and will be held in conjunction with the Dubai
International Film Festival (DIFF).
Immediately preceding the 10th edition of the DIFF, the speakers will include Alvy Ray Smith, who co-founded Pixar with Apple boss Steve Jobs and produced films such as 'Toy Story' and 'Finding Nemo'.
Besides Serkis and Smith, the line-up will include David Linde, former chairman of Universal Studios and American actor Stephen Lang, who starred in ‘Avatar’.
The discussion topics include: ‘From 2D to 4D: The future of animation’, ‘The world without actors’ and ‘Speech Synthesis and Virtual Voice Over’.
