Guantanamo Bay prisoners freed for Eid

Saudi Interior Minister to release 55 detainees - but then they will be back to face trial.

Up to 55 Saudi Arabian prisoners, who have been recently released from America's Guantanamo Bay detention centre into Saudi custody, will be released for the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.

They will also be given a gift of $2,600 per person that can be used to celebrate the holiday.

But the compassionate leave, granted by Saudi Arabian Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, is time-limited. All prisoners will be rounded up and brought back to jail after Eid.

They will then all face trial in Saudi courts.
