Gulf's largest indoor entertainment hub set to open on Pearl-Qatar

Megapolis will include arcades and indoor attractions like golf, bowling, snooker, billiard and darts, plus high tech 3D and 5D games

Gulf's largest indoor entertainment hub set to open on Pearl-Qatar

Plans have been unveiled to open the Gulf region's biggest indoor entertainment centre at the Pearl-Qatar in March.

The 5,000 square metre Megapolis is set to open in Medina Centrale on the man-made island and will combine a range of entertainment venues including arcades and indoor attractions like golf, bowling, snooker, billiard and darts, to high tech 3D and 5D games, karaoke and an active sports zone.

The entertainment centre will also feature five eateries – Saladworks, Earl of Sandwich, Cool de Sac, Camille’s Ice Cream and Mister Pizza, a statement said.

Pearl-Qatar’s retail and hospitality expansion plans will also continue Porto Arabia and Qanat Quartier with Gymito, an indoor sporting venue, in the pipeline.

United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, signed a lease agreement in March 2014 with Palma Hospitality Group to launch a series of food and beverage concepts in addition to Megapolis.

As part of the deal, two more restaurants, La Casa 28 and Debs w Reman as well as coffee shop Mokarabia, will also open later in 2015.

Mohamed Yoosaf, general manager of retail leasing at Pearl-Qatar said: “We are delighted to see one of the most anticipated entertainment hubs in Doha and at The Pearl-Qatar come to completion.

"Megapolis is a valuable addition to the family-oriented facilities that are planned for the island and categorises as the new generation of hybrid recreation centers that embody exquisite designs and infrastructure with high tech and service sophistication.”

5,000 sqm is hardly the region's biggest indoor entertainment centre - there a myriad of Family Entertainment Centres in Doha, let alone the rest of the region that are much larger.

This place is open now and visited it recently, crazy expensive. Can't believe people are paying 119 riyals to play a game for 5min or even over 300 riyals to play mini golf!
