The $24 billion halal beauty industry is growing rapidly in the UAE, according to UK cosmetics brand The Halal Cosmetics Company.

The firm, which has just launched in the UAE, said the demand for Sharia Law-compliant products continues to increase in the country and abroad, reported 7DAYS.

“The $24 billion market speaks for itself and it is growing exponentially,” a company representative told the newspaper. “The confidence arises from the conviction that companies, such as The Halal Cosmetics Company, take their stringency parameters very seriously. The buyer realises these are genuinely halal products.”

Halal products do not contain pork, alcohol, blood, or animal or human enzymes.

Companies producing and distributing such products are increasing in number in the UAE and abroad in countries. They include US-based Amara Cosmetics and UAE’s One Pure Beauty.
