HBG Holdings eyes rapid regional expansion

In the first of a number of new deals with regional food manufacturers, HBG Holdings has signed a distribution agreement with Pakistan company Young's Food Products.

HBG's current regional portfolio includes household brands like Kraft, Wrigleys, Unilever, Kellogg's, Heinz, California Gardens, Diamond and Hero.

"Young's Food Products is one of Pakistan's biggest food manufacturing and processing companies, and has been exporting its line-up of products across the world to Bangladesh, Oceania, thye GCC, Africa, Europe and the US," said Khalid Salamat, HBG's director of sales & marketing.

"Under this agreement, HBG will exclusively market and distribute the company's 'French' brand of mayonnaise, chicken and sandwich spreads and honey along with its 'Shangrila' brand of Oriental sauces across the UAE, Oman, Jordan and Qatar," he added.

HBG, which has transformed the fortunes of Spinneys Jordan from financial ruin to healthy profit when it acquired it in 2004, will now focus its efforts on FMCG distribution.
