Initiatives for the Year of Zayed

Emirates Red Crescent and Health First Pharmacies, managed by Planet Pharmacies LLC, that is renowned as the exclusive distributor of Julphar medicines in the UAE, signed a cooperation agreement related to supply of healthcare products at the Emirates Red Crescent Headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

The agreement aims at supporting the medical programs of Red Crescent by providing them with medicines and medical devices at special discounted prices specified in the agreement, in addition to providing similar discounted prices to all patients benefitting from the healthcare and therapeutic services of Red Crescent within the UAE. The agreement terms establish the coordination framework and cooperation mechanisms between the two sides in this regard.

The agreement was signed by the Deputy Secretary General of Red Crescent, Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al-Falahi and the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Health First Pharmacies, Abdulwahab Al-Halabi.

After the signing ceremony, both sides discussed strengthening of this partnership and developing further areas of cooperation in future to provide better medical care for the segments and categories sponsored by Red Crescent towards improving its community health contributions.

Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al-Falahi stressed that the agreement strengthens the efforts of Red Crescent towards providing urgent medical relief during disasters, crises and emergencies through its swift humanitarian contributions and activities to meet the health needs of those affected.

The agreement translates the desire of both parties to collaborate in alleviating the suffering of patients with health needs and to support them to best manage their health conditions. The agreement also reflects the keenness of both parties to strengthen cooperation to achieve improved health for specialised segments of Red Crescent.

Al-Falahi said that Red Crescent welcomes such vital initiatives that help to improve the health and lives of weaker segments of the community including hard-pressed families.

He praised this initiative by Health First Pharmacies, stressing that it significantly contributes to achieving the aspirations of many for improved treatments and better recovery from health ailments. He stressed that this convergence of viewpoints and objectives of Red Crescent and Health First Pharmacies shall enable them to establish further strategic and smart partnerships within the health sector.

On behalf of Health First Pharmacies, Abdulwahab Al-Halabi stressed that this initiative from both sides emerges as a part of many initiatives under the Year of Zayed that have taken place in the UAE after announcement by the esteemed leadership that 2018 is the Year of Zayed to continue following the guidance of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, May God grant his soul peace. We endeavor to follow his footsteps while recognising his achievements in strengthening the values of social and human responsibility. He added that this agreement is a successful initiative of future cooperation with the Red Crescent Authority in the field of health.

He praised the humanitarian role undertaken by the Authority in all areas and regions facing numerous humanitarian challenges and stressed the importance and vitality of the Authority’s programs in the field of providing health care for the segments of society suffering from the impact of difficult circumstances. He added that the efforts of the Authority reflect its keenness to improve the health conditions of the weaker segments of our community and to enable preservation of their human dignity.
