Thai woman and Bahraini man are accused of running an illegal clinic offering plastic surgeries
A Bahraini man and two Thai women were arrested in Bahrain for posing as doctors and running an illegal clinic carrying out plastic surgery operations, according to a report by the Gulf Daily News website.
The unlicensed clinic came to the attention of authorities when a Bahraini woman paid 1,200 Bahraini dinar ($3,191) for a buttock enhancement surgery and was not happy with the results, the report said.
The three defendants denied the charges in court.
A defence lawyer for the Bahraini man claimed her client did not pose as a doctor and only worked as a translator as the two Thai women, who he claimed carried out the surgeries, did not speak English.
The next hearing in the case will be September 4.For all the latest health tips & news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
