Cigna study earlier this year revealed that 22% of employees in the UAE face 'unmanageable levels' of stress
Cigna Insurance Middle East today launched its Stress Care initiative in the UAE, dedicated to raising awareness about the long-term impact of stress and reducing its prevalence among residents.
The Stress Care platform helps people visualise the impact of stress on the body and mind using Cigna’s Stress Portraits.
The Cigna platform takes physical readings of a person’s brainwaves, heart rate and skin response and produces a real-time rendering of stress data.
With today’s busy lifestyles and always-on jobs, stress has become a pervasive part of daily life in the UAE. Chronic is stress on the rise and is impacting the nation’s physical and emotional health.
A Cigna study earlier this year revealed that 22 percent of employees in the UAE face “unmanageable levels” of stress.
Another recent study by Asia Care Group revealed that the estimated total cost for selected stress-related illness on the UAE’s health system is around $698 million per annum.
In line with the UAE’s National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031, the Cigna campaign seeks to empower people to take control of their overall health and wellness by seeing stress differently.
Following the creation of stress portraits, Cigna is encouraging the public to take proactive steps to improve their wellness through creating a personal Stress Care P.L.A.N. – a simple four-step actionable plan to manage stress.
Cigna’s stress visualisations and care plans will be available at the Cigna kiosk at the Mall of the Emirates, Dubai from 10 – 15 October 2019.
