Harnessing technology to revolutionise healthcare

Mediclinic Middle East's effective use of technology has the power to save lives, improve overall efficiency and enhance the patient experience

Harnessing technology to revolutionise healthcare

Investment in technology is one of Mediclinic International’s key strategic priorities, and nowhere is that more evident than in the Middle East division of the company.

One of the many ways in which Mediclinic Middle East is demonstrating its commitment to take the standard of healthcare in the UAE to the next level through the use of technology is its ongoing implementation of a brand new electronic health record system. This aims to make patients’ healthcare visits and related transactions smoother and more accurate for both patients and healthcare professionals, saving time, money and effort whilst boosting efficiency, safety, professionalism and precision.

Technology is also being used to facilitate and streamline patients’ interaction with Mediclinic Middle East, giving them more options for communication with us, making the process for appointment booking easier and faster, and ensuring that queries and concerns are followed up without delay. This is being achieved through the implementation of a customer relationship management system at the central contact centre, the introduction of a 24-hour online chatbot on the Mediclinic website, and the integration of online appointment booking through Okadoc.

At Mediclinic, technology is also at the forefront of actual patient care. We are proud to utilise the most state-of-the-art technology in areas such as oncology, where we use the latest TrueBeam linear accelerator for radiation therapy. TrueBeam data is matched to that at Hirslanden in Switzerland, Mediclinic Middle East’s sister division, as well as international published data and Varian standard data with a variation of less than 0.5 percent. This technology matching means that it is possible for a patient to be treated at Mediclinic’s comprehensive cancer centres in the UAE, or at Hirslanden in Switzerland, without the need for dose recalculations.

The foundation of Mediclinic International lies in the application of rigorous science to improve the lives of patients, through the use of state-of-the-art treatments and technologies to care for patients.
