Eleven people in India are currently under doctor supervision
Authorities have confirmed that the coronavirus has been found in Nepal.
And the Union Health Ministry has said intensive screening of people will be taking place along the border between India and China, according to media reports.
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardham said: “Arrangements are being made for screening people coming to India through Nepal border adjoining Uttarakhand. Apart from the screening, the Health Ministry will immediately provide all possible assistance to the state.”
The Union Health Minister has also written a letter to the chief ministers of other states as well, urging them to personally monitor the situation.
The health minister said that although nobody in India has been confirmed as suffering from the Novel Coronavirus, 11 people are currently under doctor supervision.
Under this, special checks are being carried out at the airports of passengers coming from abroad.
The Union Health Ministry has issued a 24-hour information helpline number 011-23978046.
On Thursday Gulf airports said they would screen all passengers arriving from China amid the outbreak of the deadly virus.
