The UAE has said it is "fully and continuously prepared" to deploy resources and capabilities to assist Chinese efforts to combat the coronavirus
The UAE will help China combat the ongoing coronavirus outbreak by helping ensure the availability of necessary medical supplies, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
In a statement, the Ministry said that the UAE is cooperating with “relevant authorities” in China to fight the outbreak.
The statement added that the UAE is “fully and continuously prepared” to provide resources and capabilities to help China.
On Monday, the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention said that the UAE has taken all the necessary precautionary measures, including putting ports on standby to handle coronavirus cases.
Additionally, the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said in a statement carried by state news agency WAM that all flights to China will be suspended, with the exception of those to and from the country's capital, Beijing.
The suspension will come into force on Wednesday, February 5 and will run until further notice, adding that the decision is part of precautionary measures undertaken by the UAE to confront the outbreak of the new coronavirus.
"We continue to put our confidence in the Chinese Government’s efforts to control and contain the situation," the statement said.
