In Iran, there have been 1,501 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, with 66 deaths
The United Arab Emirates has evacuated its nationals from Iran amid the ongoing coronavirus epidemic, it was announced on Monday.
According to the UAE’s state-run WAM news agency, the evacuation was carried out through the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the UAE National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority, in coordination with the UAE embassy in Tehran.
The statement did not disclose how many Emiratis were evacuated from the country.
“All quarantine procedures were applied to those repatriated and continuous checks are conducted for their health and safety,” WAM reported.
As of Tuesday morning, there have been 90,932 confirmed cases of coronavirus around the globe, with a total of 3,119 fatalities.
