Further 30 individuals who had been in quarantine declared free of virus
Bahrain’s Ministry of Health has announced that eight women have recovered from the coronavirus in the kingdom, taking the total number of confirmed recoveries to 14.
In a statement, the ministry said the latest group to recover included six Bahraini females, a Saudi female and an Iranian female.
The statement said: “The recovered individuals have been discharged from the isolation centre after responding positively to medical care provided by the kingdom’s specialist medical team, in line with measures outlined by the World Health Organisation (WHO).”
Meanwhile, the ministry also announced that 30 individuals had been released after completing the mandatory 14-day quarantine period, bringing the total number of individuals discharged from quarantine to 68.
The individuals, 16 male Bahrainis, 12 female Bahrainis, a Chinese male and a female Indonesian, tested negative for the coronavirus before being discharged.
The ministry has stressed that all individuals returning from Italy, South Korea, Egypt or Lebanon must schedule a medical examination by visiting www.moh.gov.bh or calling 444.
There have been 85 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bahrain.
