Bahrain says 77 citizens evacuated from Iran have coronavirus

Seventy-seven Bahrainis evacuated from Iran on a special flight tested positive for coronavirus, the health ministry said on Wednesday.

Those infected were transferred to a quarantine centre and the remaining 88 who tested negative were moved to a separate facility.

Bahrain has recorded 189 cases, including 30 who recovered.

Elsewhere in the Gulf region, the UAE has 74 infections, Kuwait has 69, Saudi Arabia has 20 and Oman has 18.

As of Wednesday, global cases rose above 119,000 with 4,300 deaths.
