Customers with higher than normal temperatures will be turned away from the venue at the Bonnington Hotel
Irish pub and restaurant McGettigan’s is implementing temperature testing at its location in Jumeirah Lake Towers amid the global coronavirus epidemic, according to reports.
According to a report in Arabian Business sister publication Caterer Middle East, customers attempted to enter the venue – located at the Bonnington Hotel – are being checked, with a sign outside noting that those with temperatures “above normal” will be denied entry.
“We are simply doing all we can to ensure the safety of our patrons and colleagues,” Brendan McCormack, the director of brands, sales and marketing for McGettigan’s Group, told Caterer. “The initiative has been well received by patrons of McGettigan’s and Bonnington hotel guests.”
McCormack added that the initiative is currently being piloted at the JLT venue, but may be rolled out across McGettigan’s various other locations.
A number of hotels around the region have reported disruption as a result of the virus, including in Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia.
