A Kuwaiti woman has been forced to go into quarantine after breaching self-isolation rules, according to the country's Ministry of Interior.

The unnamed woman had posted a video showing her non-compliance with self-isolation as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus.

The video showed her going to the blood bank to make a donation, the ministry said in a statement carried by Kuwait News Agency.

The ministry urged citizens and residents to abide by all instructions issued by authorities regarding the fight against Covid-19, warning the violators would inevitably face legal action.

On Thursday, it was announced that six new cases of the coronavirus were discovered in Kuwait within the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 148.

Kuwait Health Ministry spokesman, Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad, revealed that out of the 148 cases, 18 cases have fully recovered and 130 are still receiving treatment.

He indicated that there are currently five cases that remain in intensive care, two of whom are stable and three in critical condition.
