UAE announces 210 new coronavirus cases, bringing total to 1,024

The sterilisation programme being carried out in Dubai. 

The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention announced 210 new cases of Covid-19 in the UAE, bringing the total number of cases to 1,024.

The ministry said the new cases were diagnosed after examining people who came in contact with previously infected patients, adding that they did not adhere to preventative measures or maintain sufficient physical distance. The ministry said a number of the new cases also resulted from those who had travelled abroad.

All the newly diagnosed patients are in a stable condition and receiving the necessary medical care, the ministry said.

In addition to the new cases, the ministry also that 35 more patients have fully recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the total number of those cured of the virus in the UAE to 96.
