Covid-19: UAE announces two deaths, 370 new cases

Using state-of-the-art technology, the UAE said it carried out over 49,000 additional Covid-19 tests in recent days.


The UAE’s Ministry of Health announced two more people have died in the country as a result of Covid-19, bring the total number of fatalities to 16.

The ministry said both of those who passed away were Asian nationals who had pre-existing chronic illnesses.

The ministry also announced 370 new Covid-19 cases, after it continued to increase its testing procedures among citizens and residents.

The latest figure brings the total number of cases in the UAE to 3,360. Of the new cases, all were described as being in a stable condition and receiving the necessary care.

It said that a further 150 patients have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 418.

Using state-of-the-art technology, the UAE said it carried out over 49,000 additional Covid-19 tests in recent days.

The ministry urged the public to cooperate with health authorities and comply with all precautionary measures, particularly social distancing protocols.
