Total number of recoveries in the sultanate currently stands at 109
Oman has confirmed a further 53 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the sultanate to 599.
The Ministry of Health revealed the death toll remains at three, while the total recoveries in the country stands at 109.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has stressed that entry to shopping malls must only be done in small groups and a two-metre distance must be observed between shoppers, with the threat of legal action for outlets which don’t comply.
The ministry also said that families should send only one person shopping and avoid visiting shopping outlets during peak hours between 7pm and 10pm, encouraging consumers to use online applications for shopping where available.
A statement from the Ministry of Health said: “With everyone’s commitment to healthy isolation and social and physical separation, we can protect ourselves, families and society from the coronavirus.”
Globally, there have been 1,790,573 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including over 109,600 deaths and 409,540 recoveries.
