Total number of confirmed cases in country stands at 6,302
Two more people died at the hands of coronavirus on Friday in the UAE as health authorities revealed a further 477 new cases across the country.
The total number of confirmed cases currently stands at 6,302, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP). While the number of deaths from Covid-19 stands at 37.
The two deaths were Gulf citizens who were already suffering from pre-existing chronic illnesses.
The ministry revealed that, over the past few days, over 24,000 coronavirus tests had been carried out.
It was also announced that 93 people had fully recovered from the virus, taking the number of recoveries in the UAE to 1,188.
The current total number of confirmed cases across the GCC is over 22,500 and deaths almost 150. Saudi Arabia (7,142 cases, 87 deaths), UAE (6,302, 37), Qatar (4,663, 7), Bahrain (1,740, 7), Kuwait (1,658, 5) and Oman (1,069, 6).
