Total number of confirmed cases in the country currently stands at 3,075
Kuwait reported 183 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday and a further fatality at the hands of the Covid-19 virus.
The total number of confirmed cases in the country currently stands at 3,075, while the number of fatalities has increased to 20.
The figures were announced by Health Ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad who also revealed that there are 2,249 patients receiving hospital treatment - 61 patients are in intensive care and 31 are in a critical condition.
The latest fatality in the country involved a 57-year-old Iranian man, who had been receiving treatment at ICU for 24 days.
A further 150 patients have recovered from coronavirus, bringing the total to 806 recoveries.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah has launched a new quarantine centre - the minister said that the first phase of the medical facility, involving 1,250 beds and a field hospital, had been completed. He added that the whole centre, with a total capacity of 5,000 beds, would go into service by the end of May.
Another 250-bed fully equipped medical facility will be opened at the Fairground in Mishref area, the health minister added.
