Coronavirus: Oman reports 51 new Covid-19 cases, total stands at 2,049

The ministry revealed that, of the 51 new cases, 37 involved Omani nationals and 14 were expatriates.

A further 51 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Oman on Monday, taking the total number of infections in the Sultanate to 2,049.

According to Oman’s Ministry of Health, there were no new fatalities reported, with the death toll in the country remaining at ten.

The ministry revealed that, of the 51 new cases, 37 involved Omani nationals and 14 were expatriates.

It was also announced that 364 patients had recovered from the virus.

The Supreme Committee and Ministry of Health reiterated calls for the public to adhere to strict social distancing instructions, while also reminding people to keep washing hands with water and soap, as well as avoiding touching the face, nose, mouth and eyes.

There are more than three million confirmed cases of coronavirus throughout the world and currently over 207,000 deaths reported.
