Confirmed coronavirus cases in UAE pass 14,000, death toll 126

A further seven deaths were reported in the UAE, taking to death toll up to 126.

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UAE has passed 14,000.

Dubai Health Authority (DHA) revealed on Sunday that there have been an additional 564 positive cases detected in the country, taking the total to 14,163.

DHA also said that there had been 99 more recoveries from the infection, with the total currently at 2,763.

In line with the Ministry of Health’s plans to increase the number of Covid-19 tests throughout the country for the early detection of infections, particularly among those who had prior contact with infected individuals, the ministry conducted 26,000 additional tests on Sunday.

The UAE has the third highest number of cases in the GCC, behind Qatar and Saudi Arabia, where 1,152 new cases were confirmed on Sunday and eight more fatalities, with 184 people in the kingdom now dead from Covid-19.
