Further 206 patients have recovered from virus, total recoveries stands at 3,359
The UAE has confirmed 546 new cases of coronavirus and a further 11 deaths at the hands of the Covid-19 infection.
Dr. Amna Al Dahak Al Shamsi, official spokesperson of the UAE Government, said the deaths involved a variety of nationalities.
The death toll in the country currently stands at 157, while the total number of cases of coronavirus has reached 15,738.
Dr Al Shamsi revealed that health authorities had performed an additional 25,573 tests.
She added that a further 206 patients have recovered from the Covid-19 virus, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,359.
The number of coronavirus patients receiving treatment currently totals 12,222 individuals of different nationalities.
The UAE has the third highest number of confirmed cases in the GCC, behind Saudi Arabia (31,938 and 209 deaths) and Qatar (17,972; 12). Kuwait has 6,289 cases and 42 reported deaths; Bahrain (3,934; 8) and Oman (2,903; 13).
