UAE reports 553 new Covid-19 cases, nine deaths

The new cases in the UAE come as a result of 41,000 tests carried out across the country.

UAE health officials revealed 553 new Covid-19 cases in its latest daily update issued on Friday afternoon, bringing the total number of cases to 16,793.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention said nine more people have died in the past 24 hours as a result of the disease, all of whom were suffering from chronic illnesses. It brings the total number of deaths to 174 in the UAE.  The ministry expressed its regret and sincere condolences and condolences to the families of the deceased.

The new cases in the UAE come as a result of 41,000 tests carried out across the country, which are part of its plans to expand and increase the scope of tests. The ministry said it aims to detect cases earlier, and isolate people who have come into contact with the newly infected.

In terms of those who have recovered, the ministry said a further 265 people have made a complete recovery from symptoms of the disease, bringing the total number to 3,837.
