Coronavirus: UAE confirms 624 new cases, 11 more Covid-19 deaths

The UAE reported 624 cases of coronavirus on Saturday and said a further 11 people, of various nationalities, have died at the hands of the Covid-19 virus.

It takes the total number of cases across the country to 17,417, while the death toll currently stands at 185.

Dr. Amna Al Dahak Al Shamsi, official spokesperson of the UAE Government, announced that 458 patients had recovered from the deadly virus, raising the total number of recoveries to 4,295.

''With the number of cases recorded today (Saturday), this is the highest number of recoveries in the country, estimated at approximately 25 percent of the total cases," Dr. Al Shamsi said.

She also revealed plans to increase the scope of testing and said health authorities had carried out 33,153 additional tests.

The number of coronavirus patients currently receiving treatment totals 12,937 individuals of different nationalities.
