UAE reports highest daily increase of Covid-19 cases

A further three fatalities have also been reported, taking the death toll in the UAE at the hands of the Covid-19 virus to 227.

The number of new confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UAE hit a new high on Tuesday, with 873 new infections announced.

That is up from the 832 revealed on Monday and takes the overall total number of diagnosed cases across the country up to 25,063.

A further three fatalities were also reported, taking the death toll in the UAE at the hands of the Covid-19 virus to 227.

Authorities announced that 1,214 people have recovered from coronavirus, with the total number of recoveries in the UAE standing at 10,791.

There are currently 14,045 active cases in the country, with one described as “critical”.

On Monday it was announced that the lockdown across the UAE is to be extended by two hours from Wednesday, to run from 8pm to 6am.

Fines have also been revised as part of a crackdown on those who fail to adhere to the government guidelines.
