Kuwait announces more Covid-19 fatalities, death toll rises to 121

Health Ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad revealed that a further 1,073 people had tested positive for the deadly Covid-19 virus, with the total rising up to 16,764.

Coronavirus has claimed the lives of three more people in Kuwait over the last 24 hours, it was reported on Tuesday, taking the death toll in the country to 121.

Health Ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad revealed that a further 1,073 people had tested positive for the deadly Covid-19 virus, with the total rising up to 16,764.

At the daily media briefing he estimated that there are currently 11,962 active cases in Kuwait, including 179 patients who are being treated in intensive care units.

Earlier on Tuesday, Health Minister Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah announced the recovery of 342 Covid-19 patients, bringing the total to 4,681 recoveries.

Kuwait is currently in the middle of a strict nationwide curfew, designed to curb the spread of coronavirus, which is set to run through until May 30.
