UAE Ministry of Health reveals 894 new Covid-19 cases, as testing increases

The ministry called on the public to adhere to health guidelines and instructions from the relevant authorities, particularly concerning social distancing

UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention carried out 43,000 new tests in the last 24 hours, which it says resulted in the detection of 894 new cases.

The ministry said the increase in testing aims to detect infections early, particularly among those who had contact with already infected cases.

The new cases brought the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 26,898.

Four more Covid-19 patients died as a result of the disease, the ministry said, due to complications arising from the coronavirus. A total of 237 people have now died in the UAE from Covid-19.

In terms of recovering patients, the ministry said 946 people infected with the virus have fully recovered after receiving the necessary medical care, bringing the total number of recoveries to 12,755.

The latest figures mean that there are 13,906 active Covid-19 cases in the UAE.
