Country registers 562 new cases of coronavirus, lowest number in recent days
Kuwait is witnessing a ‘downward tilting’ of the coronavirus curve after recording the country’s lowest number of new infections in recent days on Thursday.
A total of 562 new cases were confirmed by health ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad over the past 24 hours, a dramatic decrease in comparison to recent numbers, which saw the number of infections shoot up beyond 1,000.
The new cases included 177 Kuwaitis, 99 Indians, 86 Bangladeshis, 84 Egyptians and the rest were of various nationalities. They were registered in the health: 200 in Al-Ahmadi, 148 in AlFarwaniya, 105 in Al-Jahraa, 55 in Al-Assima (the capital) and 54 in Hawally.
The total number of cases in the country now stands at 29,921.
A further six people in Kuwait have died from Covid-19, with the death toll now standing at 236.
Dr Al-Sanad revealed that 418 patients had been released from quarantine, while 2,721 new tests had been carried out in the last day – 306,006 in total.
