Coronavirus: UAE reports 479 new Covid-19 cases, two fatalities

The new cases takes the total number of infections announced in the country, since the start of the pandemic, to 40,986.

The UAE recorded 479 new confirmed cases of coronavirus on Thursday after health authorities revealed 45,000 additional tests had been carried out over the past 24 hours.

The death toll at the hands of Covid-19 has increased to 286 after two more fatalities were reported.

According to a tweet from the UAE Government, a further 1,217 people recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 25,234. There are currently 15,466 active cases of coronavirus across the country.

While the recovery rate in the UAE currently stands at 61.57 percent.
