Covid-19: UAE reports 491 new cases, one death

UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention revealed 491 new Covid-19 cases in its daily update today, bringing the total number of registered cases to 41,990.

The ministry said one Covid-19 patient in the UAE died as a result of the disease. The total number of people to have died from the coronavirus in the UAE has now reached 288.

The number of people who have recovered from Covid-19 increased by 815 in since the last update. 

Over 40,000 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours. The ministry said it plans to expand and increase the scope of tests being carried out, with the aim of early detection, which in turn will enable them to quickly identify people that those infected have been in contact with.
