The Slim d’Hermès Mille Fleurs du Mexique watch is inspired by the brand’s silk scarf
Luxury French brand, Hermès, has launched a six-piece edition watch.
The Slim d’Hermès Mille Fleurs du Mexique watch was inspired by the brand’s silk scarf.
It features a mother-of-pearl dial with drawings and patterns taken from the Hermès silk scarf.
The designs feature cut leaves and flowers - taken from 15th and 16th century tapestry patterns – as well as profusions of feathers and birds.
The drawings are conducted by graphic designer Laetitia Bianchi, who transfers the scarf’s motif onto the dial before manually drawing the designs. It takes 20 layers of paint to complete each dial.
According to Bianchi, the ideas behind her designs often come from the folklore of her native country, Mexico.
In addition to the dial’s painting, it is also framed by a white gold case.
The watch houses the brand’s ultra-thin Manufacture Hermès H1950 movement as well as an alligator strap made in-house.For all the latest fashion trends from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
