Hilton Worldwide has announced the signing of a management agreement to introduce Hilton Garden Inn Tabuk by the end of 2013.

It will be Hilton's first hotel in Tabuk, the capital city of the Tabuk Province in north western Saudi Arabia.

The 110-room hotel, the second Hilton Garden Inn in the Gulf kingdom, will include 10 suites and feature a fitness centre, swimming pool, an all-day dining restaurant and lobby lounge.

The new hotel, expected to open in winter 2013, will also feature business facilities including a boardroom, two meeting rooms and a business centre.

Rudi Jagersbacher, president, Hilton Worldwide, Middle East & Africa, said: "Saudi Arabia presents promising development opportunities for us.

"Today's signing is key as we enter another new Saudi city and embed our expansion strategy to provide quality services and products to the market. As Tabuk's prominence as a commercial centre grows, we are inspired to grow with it."

The announcement, in partnership with owners Adex Contracting Maintenance and Operations, will be Hilton Worldwide's 15th pipeline hotel in Saudi Arabia.

Within three years, Hilton Worldwide expects to grow its current portfolio of six hotels in Saudi Arabia to 21 properties, offering an additional 9,300 rooms to the country.

Adrian Kurre, global head, Hilton Garden Inn, said: "Hilton Garden Inn has had great success and has been well received in the Saudi market since opening the Hilton Garden Inn in Riyadh in 2009.

"I'm delighted we can continue serving this market and am confident this new hotel will be a popular choice for the local community, as well as business and leisure visitors to Tabuk."

The city of Tabuk is widely recognised as an important en-route religious destination for pilgrims travelling between Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon and the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
