Honeywell eyes regional growth

Record orders and revenue for Honeywell are indicative of growth trends across the region, according to company executives.

Record orders and revenue for Honeywell are indicative of growth trends across the region, according to company executives.

The company came to its 2007 Middle East Users Group conference, held in Dubai, with two recently signed deals to prove the point. Worth a combined total of US $20.5 million, the deals cover a process automation and fieldbus project for a new chemical plant in Kuwait and automation work for Dolphin Energy.

"Record orders and revenue from Oman, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and across the entire region are rolling in, and are indicative of growth trends in the region," said Larry Perkins regional general manager for Honeywell Process Solutions in the Middle East.

This regional growth was reflected in the Honeywell user conference, which the company uses to encourage the development of a local user community. On a global level Honeywell says its customers have also proved to be a valuable source of ideas.

"User input is a great resource of ideas from our global customers," said Perkins. "This Middle East Users Group conference is trying to make sure our customers have a networking connection; sometimes it's easier to solve a problem if you can contact a friend down the road."
