Hotel Show 2007 bigger than ever

This year's Hotel Show promises more exhibitors and visitors.

This year's Hotel Show promises more exhibitors and visitors.

Spread over seven halls, The Hotel Show will be held from June 3-5 at the International Exhibition Centre, Dubai and is billed as the Middle East's leading supplies exhibition for the region's growing hospitality and tourism industry.

"This year we will host more than 800 exhibitors from more than 46 countries. The regional hospitality industry is in such a dynamic mood, and so our earlier projections for the 2007 show will now not only be realised, but exceeded," commented Maggie Moore, exhibition director of The Hotel Show.

While a number of new and long standing companies will head to the event, including Intermetal and RAK Porcelain, there has also been a marked increase in the size of country pavilions, with attendances from Egypt, the UK, Malta, Brazil and Thailand. But it is Germany that will have the largest pavilion, covering 974m² and showcasing 56 exhibitors, followed by Spain with 27 exhibitors across 877 m² and Italy with 839 m² and 26 exhibitors.

Portuguese companies will also be out in force at this year's hotel show appearing across a number of different sectors including tableware and cutlery, decorative lighting and furniture.

Visitor numbers to the show are also expected to rise in line with previous years, with 2006 witnessing 11,500 trade visitors, up from 8124 in 2005. Organisers claim almost half of visitors are from outside the UAE, in particular from Europe.
