HP adds to workstation range

HP has added to its range of workstations available in the Middle East with the launch of the HP Workstation c8000.

HP has added to its range of workstations available in the Middle East with the launch of the HP Workstation c8000.

The company claims the Workstation c8000 will meet the most demanding technical workloads of the automotive, aerospace and electronic design enterprises, capable of handing the complexities of large models, system assemblies, and design analysis and simulations.

“We are very pleased that leaders in the automotive, aerospace and electronic manufacturing industries in the Middle East have selected the new HP Workstation c8000 to drive their engineering design environments,” said Junaid Rahmann, workstations and thin clients product manager, Personal Systems Group, HP Middle East. “HP is committed to providing our traditional RISC customers increased performance while maintaining Unix compatibility and will remain an innovation leader in meeting our customer’s most demanding technical requirements,” he added.

The Workstation c8000 is, HP claims, the first workstation in the region to offer industry-leading AGP 8X graphics and the latest HP zx1 chipset, providing more than four times the graphics, processor and memory bandwidth than previous models, and provides 25% lower memory latency and twice the computer power of prior models. Support for 16 gigabytes of memory enables the system to handle large workloads.

The Workstation c8000 is intended to provide engineers with more freedom for creativity, more design iterations with greater detail, and faster insight and understanding. HP claims it will also provide companies with bottom-line results such as faster time to market, higher quality and better performance.

The c8000 also features improvements in processor, graphics, chipset and cooling technology, enabling Unix workstation designers to design and analyse products more quickly and affordably. The PA-8800 processor features two-way performance at one-way prices and four-way performance at two-way prices. It is binary compatible with existing HP-UX applications.
