HP makes deal with UAE colleges

Tech firm to supply 4,000 special-price tablet PCs to students in the UAE.

HP has made an innovative tie-up with UAE educational establishment Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in which it will provide its tablet PCs at a special price to students.

The IT firm will suppply 4,000 of its tc4400 tablet PCs to the students, who are required to use a portable computer during their studies.The computers will be made available at ‘student prices', HP said in a statement.

The HP Compaq tc4400 Tablet PC is an ultra portable notebook which comes complete with Intel Core 2 Duo processors and a 12.1" XGA display.

"HP is particularly proud of this project due to our close working relationship with HCT. We strive to deliver the best technology solutions and feel honored to assist in the learning and development  of the UAE students," Alfred Chrispanous, enterprise account manager, personal systems group HP Middle East.

HCT has 16 campuses across the UAE.
