HP Middle East launch new, energy-efficient Tablet PC

HP Pavilion tx2000 aimed at style and eco-conscious consumers

HP Middle East today announced the regional launch of the Pavilion tx2000 series, their ultra-mobile tablet PC with a 12 inch, rotatable screen.

Weighing in from 1.94KG, the tx2000 notebooks are ENERGY STAR compliant thanks to energy-efficient designs and automated low-power states that activate when the unit is not in use.

The touch-screen itself features a dedicated digitiser panel and pen, and disables touch-screen input when the pen is hovering near the screen (to prevent the irritation of brushing the screen with your thumb).

The low-spec version of the tx2000, which features a 2.1GHZ AMD Turion processor, 2GB of RAM and a 160GB hard disk will go on sale priced from AED 4799 ($1306). The more advanced version of the machine, with a 2.2GHz Turion, 250GB hard disk, Verizon 3G ExpressCard and Vista Ultimate is currently retailing in America for $2311.
