Centre will bring certified training to help extend technical expertise of HCT graduates
HP has partnered with UAE Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), to bring indepth technical training to students in the UAE.
The two have officially opened an HP Certified Training Centre at the Abu Dhabi Men’s College (ADMC), which will deliver courses for students and industry trainees in areas such as networking, storage management and IT services management.
The centre is intended to give IT graduates a deeper expertise in specific areas, and to train them to certification in AIS and ITIL Fundamentals.
John Hoonhout, managing director of HP Middle East commented: “Feedback from the industry was that IT graduates lacked expertise in networking and storage management. At HP, we pride ourselves on collaborating with our customers and communities to provide them with vital IT knowledge and skills.
“Through this partnership with HCT, we’ll be able to provide both students and professors the tools they need to develop advanced levels of IT education based on HP’s high standards and quality,” he added.
The centre will also provide training in HP ProCurve networking qualifications such as the AIS, ASE and Master ASE. HCT professors will also undergo training in ITIL and other courses, to allow HP storage, services and networking management courses to be integrated into the curriculum in future.
“HP’s cooperation with HCT is tremendously promising for our institute and its students. With the increasing demand for technical support in the Middle East, it has become important to strengthen the technical education in this region. We are extremely pleased that HP is providing us with this exceptional opportunity. Through the HP Certified Training Center, HCT graduates will be able to tackle the ongoing IT challenges in their work environments,” said Dr Simon Jones, director of Abu Dhabi Men’s College.
