Chinese telco has also unveiled Ascend Mate, the world's largest smartphone, with a 6.1" screen
Chinese telecoms provider Huawei will unveil the Ascend P6 device, the world’s slimmest smartphone, in the UAE at the end of July.
Measuring just 6.18mm thin and weighting just 120g, the Ascend P6 is designed to fit into the tiniest of pockets or clutch bags. It features a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.2.2 operating system, 2000mAh battery, 4.7-inch HD in-cell LCD screen technology, and ‘MagicTouch’ for enhanced screen responsiveness even when wearing gloves.
The range, when unveiled in the UAE next month, comes in white, black and baby pink and its manufacturer claimed the camera's "instant facial beauty support" software reduces wrinkles and blends skin tone.
“The Huawei Ascend P6 is a star among smartphones with its industry-leading design, high-quality camera, and intuitive user interface,” said Richard Yu, chief executive officer of the Huawei Consumer Business Group. “Building on the success of our Ascend P series of fashion-led smartphones, the Huawei Ascend P6 provides unsurpassed technology and a design that is simply stunning.”
The introduction of the Ascend P6 comes hot on the heels of the Middle East launch of the Huawei Ascend P2, the world’s fastest 4G LTE smartphone, which is due in stores this month. The Ascend P2 features a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and LTE Cat 4, providing an ultrafast web experience with download speeds of up to 150 Mbps.
In another record-breaking move, this month also seems the launch of the Ascend Mate, the world’s largest smartphone with a 6.1” screen.
The Ascend P2 and Ascend Mate will be retailed at approximately $490 and $435 respectively, and will be available at major retail outlets in the Middle East. For all the latest mobile phone news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
