International Foundation Group (IFG) has picked up the shoring and piling contract for the US $55 million (AED 202 million) Canada Business Centre Tower in Dubai's Business Bay.

The developer is Canada-based AAKAR.

The contract involves shoring and piling excavation using IFG's piling systems, concrete diaphragm walls, excavation support and earth retention systems.

Cansult is the design and project management consultant.

Canada Business Centre Tower will have 19 floors of office space in addition to around 700m2 of retail space, leisure facilities, food courts, a shopping boulevard and parking.

IFG specialises in geotechnical and foundation engineering and offers services ranging from preliminary assessment of geotechnical works, conceptual and detail design, to the actual construction of the works.

"As one of the leading specialist firms in our industry, we are constantly seeking to engage in large-scale property projects with international developers such as AAKAR," said Khalil Charif, managing director, IFG.

The project is due for completion in December 2008.
