Imation adds Redington to distributor ranks

Storage media vendor Imation has appointed Redington as a distribution partner for Kuwait and Egypt. The latest channel move from Imation is designed to increase channel breadth in the two countries covered and also boost awareness of the vendor’s product portfolio.

Storage media vendor Imation has appointed Redington as a distribution partner for Kuwait and Egypt. The latest channel move from Imation is designed to increase channel breadth in the two countries covered and also boost awareness of the vendor’s product portfolio.

“Redington is one of the region’s leading distributors and have a strong network of channel partners in these markets,” said Riyaz Abdulla, regional sales and marketing manager at Imation for Middle East and English-speaking East Africa.

“We felt it is the right time to consolidate and strengthen our local presence in Kuwait and Egypt as demand for storage is on the rise. This agreement allows us to service this growing market with an established, reputable channel partner,” he added.

Imation develops, manufactures and supplies a wide range of magnetic and optical removable data and storage media with capacities ranging from a few megabytes right through to hundreds of gigabytes.

“We are delighted to expand our portfolio with Imation and this partnership will enable us to deliver the data storage media solutions to our channel partners in Egypt and Kuwait,” said Lalit S. Nagpal, category head Middle East for peripherals and supplies at Redington Gulf.

“Imation’s strong product line up and Redington’s on shore presence will help us broaden our channel and add value proposition. The demand for storage media is on the rise among business and personal users. Digital content in the form of data, music, movies and photographs is being created everyday and storage needs double every fifteen to eighteen months. We are now in a position to cater to the storage demands not just of the enterprise, mid-range and SOHO sectors but also the consumer segment,” Nagpal added.
